This year, Fishta Seafood Inc. fostered partnership with Bluer Seas Philippines as they continue Responsible Seafood Sourcing (RSS) through strategic sustainability communications and impact storytelling. The partnership aims to strengthen Fishta’s communication of its sustainability efforts and promote greater transparency within the seafood value chain.
This comes after nearly four (4) years of valuable partnership and shared journey that first started under a USAID-funded Fish Right Program. Over the years, the company has launched capacity development initiatives in fish processing, direct-to-source purchasing, product innovation, and market linkage. Since 2022, Fishta has opened six new direct sourcing partnerships with local fishing communities and developed a corporate seafood procurement policy aligned with RSS.

In 2024, Fishta introduced its 100% TLS (Traceable and Locally Sourced) seafood line in leading supermarkets nationwide, as a further demonstration of its commitment to increasing its seafood volume coming from responsible sources.
“The trust and confidence extended to us by Fishta affirms the value of the impact we have created together over the past four years,” said Rebeca Andong, Executive Director of Bluer Seas. She added “This renewed collaboration provides Bluer Seas the optimism to carry forward this important work.”

Carina Ong, General Manager of Fishta Seafood Inc., added, “Our partnership with Bluer Seas reflects our continuing commitment to advancing the well-being of local fishing communities. We value the checks, balances, and support Bluer Seas provides to ensure integrity in our sourcing and storytelling.”
The partnership underscores the growing momentum among Philippine seafood businesses to adopt sustainability into business operations, supporting local fishing communities and biodiversity protection efforts.
